1. 1. A petitioner and any spouse of the petitioner who adopts a child through an intercountry adoption may petition to readopt the child in this State.
2. 2. As used in this section, “intercountry adoption” means the process by which a person adopts a child in another country by permanent legal means and brings the child back to live permanently with the person.
