After receipt of an application, requisite fees and documentation in accordance with board rules, the board shall issue in a timely manner a license to practice as a licensed master of social work to an individual who:

1. A. is at least eighteen years of age;
2. B. possesses at least a master's degree in social work from a graduate program of social work accredited by a recognized association;
3. C. is trained in New Mexico cultures;
4. D. passed a jurisprudence examination; and
5. E. passed an examination approved by the board, including a master's examination administered by a nonprofit association composed of and owned by social work regulatory boards and colleges in all states.

ANNOTATIONS

Effective dates. — Laws 2019, ch. 143 contained no effective date provision, but, pursuant to N.M. Const., art. IV, § 23, was effective June 14, 2019, 90 days after the adjournment of the legislature.
