N.M. Stat. Ann. § 60-2A-10 – Licenses for promoters, boxers, trainers, ring officials and others. (Repealed effective July 1, 2030.)

A. All promoters, foreign co-promoters, matchmakers, professional boxers, professional kickboxers, professional martial artists, professional mixed martial artists, sports entertainment wrestlers, managers, seconds, announcers, referees, trainers, booking agents and timekeepers shall be licensed by the commission.
B. No person shall be permitted to participate either directly or indirectly in any professional contest unless the person has first procured a license from the commission.
C. Any person violating the provisions of this section is guilty of a petty misdemeanor.

ANNOTATIONS

Delayed repeal. — For delayed repeal of this section, see 60-2A-30 NMSA 1978.

The 2024 amendment, effective May 15, 2024, required kickboxers, professional martial artists, professional mixed martial artists and sports entertainment wrestlers to be licensed by the New Mexico athletic commission; in the section heading, deleted "wrestlers"; and in Subsection A, after the second occurrence of "professional" deleted "wrestlers" and added "kickboxers, professional martial artists, professional mixed martial artists, sports entertainment wrestlers".
