It is unlawful for any person to knowingly violate any provision of the Savings and Loan Act or any lawful rule or regulation or order of the supervisor and any person responsible for such violation is guilty:

1. A. of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or a fine not exceeding five thousand dollars ($5,000) or both; or
2. B. if the violation was committed with intent to defraud, of a felony punishable by imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or a fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000) or both.
