N.M. Stat. Ann. § 22-10A-10.1
A. A level two license is a nine-year license granted to a nurse who:

The 2026 amendment, effective July 1, 2026, revised licensure provisions for school nurses, and clarified that the provisions of this section include school nurses employed by charter schools; in Subsection A, in the introductory clause, after "nurse who" deleted "is a registered nurse who holds a level one license", added Paragraph A(1) and paragraph designation "(2)", in Paragraph A(2), after "department" deleted "and who meets the qualifications for level two licensure and who annually demonstrates essential competency to nurse"; added new subsection designation "B"; in Subsection B, after each occurrence of "school district" added "or charter school"; deleted former Subsection B; and in Subsection C, after "level two teacher" deleted "for a standard nine and one-half month contract".
