The department shall authorize a diploma program that results in a diploma award by the department for adults who have not graduated from high school but who want a program that:

1. A. documents their educational attainment through college and career readiness standards;
2. B. assesses high school-level skills in applied life and work contexts; and
3. C. prepares them to enter college or the workforce, upgrade their skills, advance to a better job or move from one field of work to another.

ANNOTATIONS

Effective dates. — Laws 2019, ch. 185 contained no effective date provision, but, pursuant to N.M. Const., art. IV, § 23, was effective June 14, 2019, 90 days after the adjournment of the legislature.
