As used in the Natural History and Science Museum Act:

1. A. "board" means the board of trustees of the New Mexico museum of natural history and science;
2. B "director" means the director of the division;
3. C. "division" means the natural history and science museum division of the cultural affairs department;
4. D. "museum" means the New Mexico museum of natural history and science;
5. E. "natural history" means that which pertains to the earth and its life, including but not limited to the fields of biology, geology and related life sciences; and
6. F. "physical science" means that which pertains to mathematics, physics, chemistry, astronomy and related sciences and technologies.

The 2004 amendment, effective May 19, 2004, in Subsection B, deleted references to the office of cultural affairs and natural history and science museum; and in Subsection C, changed "office of cultural affairs" to "cultural affairs department".

The 1990 amendment, effective May 16, 1990, added "and science" following "natural history" throughout the section, substituted "Natural History and Science Museum Act" for "Natural History Museum Act" in the introductory phrase, added Subsection F and made a minor stylistic change.
