N.M. Stat. Ann. § 11-22-8
An active military member or the spouse of an active military member shall designate a home state where the individual has a multistate license. The active military member or the spouse of an active military member may retain the home state designation during the period the service member is on active duty.

Effective dates. — Laws 2026, ch. 6 contained no effective date provision, but, pursuant to N.M. Const., art. IV, § 23, was effective May 20, 2026, 90 days after adjournment of the legislature.
