1. A. Law enforcement shall be responsible for conducting investigations of child abuse or neglect in schools, facilities and child care homes or centers. Upon request from law enforcement, PSD shall assist in the investigation.

2. B. When PSD is notified of any allegations in a school, facility or child care home or center in which a child in PSD custody is placed or receiving services:

   1. (1) if the alleged victim is a child in PSD custody, PSD shall conduct an assessment of that child’s safety and well-being; or
   2. (2) if the alleged victim is not a child in PSD custody, PSD may, at its discretion, conduct an assessment of the safety and well-being of any children in PSD custody placed or receiving services there.
