The purpose of the retrospective case review of death in the maternal, fetal, infant and child population in New Mexico by a multidisciplinary team of experts is to reduce future rates of such deaths by identification of prevention factors, risk reduction factors and/or systems failure factors and the dissemination of such information to policy makers, providers, communities and to the public.
