Chapter 11 Gas Equipment

See this chapter of the NFPA 99 except as provided below.

  1. A. Section 11.3 Cylinder and Container Storage Requirements. See this section of the NFPA 99 except as provided below.

    1. (1) Section 11.3.5.2 See this section of the NFPA 99 except as provided below.

      1. (a) Delete subsection (5) and substitute with the following: If indoors, the room shall be in accordance with 14.7.2 NMAC.
      2. (b) Delete subsection (6) and substitute with the following: They shall comply with 14.10.4 NMAC for unclassified (nonhazardous) locations.
      3. (c) Delete subsection (10) and substitute with the following: They shall be supplied with electrical power compliant with the requirements of 14.10.4 NMAC.
    2. (2) Section 11.3.6.3 See this section of the NFPA 99 except delete subsection (2) and substitute with the following: Minimum distance of 1.5m (5ft) if the entire storage location is protected by an automatic sprinkler system designed in accordance with 10.25.2 NMAC.
  2. B. Section 11.4 Performance Criteria and Testing. Delete this section of the NFPA 99.

  3. C. Section 11.5 Administration. See this section of the NFPA 99 except as provided below.

    1. (1) Section 11.5.1 Policies. Delete this section of the NFPA 99.

    2. (2) Section 11.5.2 Gases in cylinders and liquefied gases in containers. See this section of the NFPA 99 except as provided below.

      1. (a) Section 11.5.2.1 Qualification and training of personnel. Delete this section of the NFPA 99.
      2. (b) Section 11.5.2.2 Transfilling cylinders. Delete this section of the NFPA 99.
      3. (c) Section 11.5.2.3 Transfilling liquid oxygen. See this section of the NFPA 99.
      4. (d) Section 11.5.2.4 Filling cylinders from oxygen concentrators. Delete this section of the NFPA 99.
      5. (e) Section 11.5.2.5 Ambulatory patients. Delete this section of the NFPA 99.
    3. (3) Section 11.5.3 Use (including information and warning signs). Delete this section of the NFPA 99.
  4. D. Section 11.6 Operation and Management of Cylinders. Delete this section of the NFPA 99.
  5. E. Section 11.7 Liquid Oxygen Equipment. Delete this section of the NFPA 99.
