1. (a) The board shall recognize as maintenance of continuing competence the completion of non-academic courses, seminars, conferences, and workshops, if they are on the topics of:

   1. (1) Speech-language pathology theory or practice or both;
   2. (2) Communication disorders; or
   3. (3) Any conditions for which the services of a speech-language pathologist are often or usually recommended.
2. (b) The board shall credit the licensee with one hour for each clock hour of attendance at such non-academic courses, seminars, conferences, and workshops.

3. (c) For courses, seminars, conferences, and workshops, documentation of attendance shall be:

   1. (1) A photocopy or the original of an official ASHA continuing education registry transcript;

   2. (2) A photocopy of a certificate of attendance showing:

      1. a. The name and location of the course, seminar, conference, or workshop;
      2. b. The name of the provider or sponsoring entity;
      3. c. The beginning and ending date(s) of the course, seminar, conference, or workshop;
      4. d. The number of hours credited by the provider or sponsoring entity;
      5. e. The name of the speaker or instructor; and
      6. f. The signature of the speaker, the instructor, or a representative of the provider or sponsoring entity; or

   3. (3) In place of one of the documents described in (1) and (2) above:

      1. a. A brochure or notice providing the information described in (c)(2)a. through (c)(2)d. above; and
      2. b. A photocopy of a confirmation of registration or a receipt showing payment for the course, seminar, conference or workshop.
