Each finale mortar shall be buried in a trench at least ¾ of its length, but in no case shall the protrusion above ground exceed 10 inches. All seam welds, whenever practicable, shall face away from the audience. Burial shall be in a trench only. Finale mortars shall not be buried in rows in an open pit-like excavation.
