- (a) Gold Star plates shall be issued to a vehicle owned or held in trust by a mother or stepmother of a person killed while on duty in the United States armed forces, pursuant to RSA 261:87-c.
(b) A stepmother shall be eligible for a gold star plate under this rule if she:
- (1) Provides a marriage license which is dated prior to the armed service member’s 15th birthday; and
- (2) Provides a completed Department of Defense “DD form 1300” to the director.
(c) If the vehicle is held in trust, the applicant shall provide a copy of the most updated trust document that demonstrates:
- (1) That the vehicle is owned by the trust, except that a current registration for the vehicle demonstrating that the vehicle held in the trust may be substituted for the trust document for this requirement; and
- (2) That the applicant is a trustee of the trust.
- (d) A gold star plate shall not be issued to a stepmother if a gold star plate is already issued to another stepmother for that service member.
