Lights on Rafts and Barges Under Way

- (a) For the purpose of this section, “raft” means an appurtenance to a vessel.
- (b) Rafts shall carry a white light on each end between sunset and sunrise, when being towed or propelled in any way.
- (c) Barges being towed astern of vessels, when towing singly or in what is known as tandem towing, shall each carry a white light on the bow and a white light on the stern.
(d) Barges being towed alongside a vessel shall:
- (1) Carry a green light upon the starboard side;
- (2) Carry a red light on the port side of the barge; and
- (3) If there is more than one barge abreast, the colored lights shall be displayed from the outer sides of the outside barge.
