1. (a) A vehicle shall be rejected if:

   1. (1) The warning lights are not the proper color for the type of vehicle, pursuant to (c) below; or
   2. (2) The warning lights are not located in the proper position and location, pursuant to Saf-C 3215.02(d).

2. (b) The following vehicles may be equipped with warning lights of the appropriate color, pursuant to (c) below:

   1. (1) Private snow removal vehicles;
   2. (2) Public works departments;
   3. (3) Public utility companies;
   4. (4) Wreckers or other roadside service vehicles;
   5. (5) Postal services vehicles;
   6. (6) Vehicles of the office of emergency management;
   7. (7) Private construction companies;
   8. (8) State, city or town highway departments or security vehicles;
   9. (9) Funeral escort and lead vehicles;
   10. (10) Escort vehicles for loads with overweight dimensions;
   11. (11) Vehicles set forth in RSA 266:45-a;
   12. (12) Vehicles of the department of transportation;
   13. (13) Private security vehicles; and
   14. (14) Any other vehicle authorized by the director to be equipped with warning lights.

3. (c) The approved color of warning lights shall be as follows:

   1. (1) Amber for:

      1. a. Private snow removal vehicles;
      2. b. Public works departments;
      3. c. Public utility companies;
      4. d. Wreckers or other roadside service vehicles;
      5. e. Postal services vehicles;
      6. f. Vehicles of the office of emergency management;
      7. g. Private construction companies;
      8. h. State, city or town highway departments or security vehicles;
      9. i. Escort vehicles for loads with overweight dimensions;
      10. j. Vehicles of the department of transportation; and
      11. k. Private security vehicles;
   2. (2) Purple for funeral escort and lead vehicles; and
   3. (3) Amber and white for vehicles set forth in RSA 266:45-a.
4. (d) The approved position and location for warning lights shall be as set forth in Saf-C 3215.02(d).
