Dual Control Pedals

(a) All driver education vehicles shall have:
- (1) Dual-control brake pedals; and
- (2) If a manual transmission, dual-control clutch pedals.
- (b) The brake mechanism on the passenger side shall be hydraulically or mechanically attached to the braking system of the vehicle to allow the instructor to bring the vehicle to a stop. For CDL instructional vehicles, if a trolley brake is used, the mechanism shall be fully secured to the top of the dashboard on the passenger side of the vehicle.
- (c) The requirements of (a)(2) above shall not apply to approved CDL drivers’ schools pursuant to Saf-C 3117.
