Written and On-Road Examinations

- (a) Each applicant for a driver education instructor certificate shall successfully complete, with a grade of 80% or higher, a written 100 question multiple choice examination conducted by the department of safety.
(b) The written examination shall consist of the following general topics:
- (1) The operation of a motor vehicle;
- (2) Information contained in the New Hampshire driver’s manual;
- (3) Motor vehicle statutes; and
- (4) These rules.
- (c) Candidates for written examination shall not be prohibited from using an unaltered copy of these rules provided by the department.
- (d) A written examination pursuant to (a) above shall be valid for a period of one year.
- (e) An applicant who has failed the written examination pursuant to (a) above shall not be eligible to retest for a period of 10 working days between the administration of the examinations.
- (f) Each applicant for a driver education instructor certificate shall successfully complete a comprehensive driving examination conducted by the department of safety.
- (g) An applicant who has failed the comprehensive driving examination pursuant to (f) above shall not be eligible to retest for a period of 10 working days between the administration of the examinations.
