(a) The chassis shall be equipped with the following functional instruments and gauges:
- (1) Speedometer;
- (2) Odometer, which shall give accrued mileage, and may include tenths of miles;
- (3) Voltmeter or an ampmeter with graduated charge and discharge with compatible wiring and generating capacities;
- (4) Oil pressure gauge;
- (5) Water temperature gauge;
- (6) Fuel gauge;
- (7) Upper beam headlight indicator;
- (8) Vacuum or air brake indicator gauge;
- (9) A low air warning device on each school bus equipped with an air brake system;
- (10) Turn signal indicator;
- (11) A Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) indicator, if applicable; and
- (12) Propane, Electric, or NG gauge if applicable.
- (b) The instruments and gauges set forth in (a) above shall be mounted on the instrument panel in a manner that is clearly visible to the driver while in the driver's seat.
- (c) The instrument panel shall have lamps of sufficient candlepower to illuminate all instruments and gauges and shift selector indicator for automatic transmission.
- (d) Notwithstanding (a)(8) above, a light indicator shall be permitted on a school bus that is equipped with vacuum or air brake indicator gauges.
