For purposes of obtaining a license by endorsement for a profession regulated by the board of nursing, the current requirements of the licensing jurisdiction shall be as follows:

1. (a) For a licensed nursing assistant (LNA):

   1. (1) Complete a state-approved nursing aide program; and
   2. (2) Pass a state-approved examination for nursing assistants;

2. (b) For a licensed practical nurse (LPN):

   1. (1) Complete a state-approved practical nursing program or program deemed equivalent by the licensing jurisdiction; and
   2. (2) Pass the NCLEX-PN examination or another examination deemed equivalent by the licensing jurisdiction;

3. (c) For a certificate of medication administration for a licensed nursing assistant (MNA):

   1. (1) Licensure, certification, or registration as a nursing assistant;
   2. (2) Complete a state-approved education program for medication administration; and
   3. (3) Pass a state-approved examination for medication administration;

4. (d) For a registered nurse (RN):

   1. (1) Complete a state-approved registered nursing program or program deemed equivalent by the licensing jurisdiction; and
   2. (2) Pass the NCLEX-RN examination or another examination deemed equivalent by the licensing jurisdiction; and

5. (e) For an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN):

   1. (1) Licensure as a registered nurse;
   2. (2) A master’s degree from an APRN education program accredited by a national accrediting body; and

   3. (3) Current certification from any of the following certifying bodies:

      1. a. American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB);
      2. b. American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN);
      3. c. American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB);
      4. d. American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC);
      5. e. National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCCRNA);
      6. f. National Certification Corporation (NCC); or
      7. g. Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB).
