Certified doulas shall:
- (a) Treat all individuals with respect, recognizing their unique identities and life choices;
- (b) Respect the dignity, humanity, and personal autonomy of each individual they serve;
- (c) Protect client information and maintain the privacy of each client’s information, unless directed by the client or required by law to release the information;
- (d) Act with honesty, fairness, and transparency in all situations related to practicing as a doula; and
- (e) Support each client’s informed decision-making and choices, and not impose the doula’s own preferences.
