- (a) This chapter shall apply to any individual who wishes to be certified as a doula or as a state-certified lactation service provider in order to be eligible for direct Medicaid reimbursement.
- (b) Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to apply for any purpose other than being eligible for direct Medicaid reimbursement.
(c) Healthcare professionals who refer patients for lactation support services shall be solely responsible for:
- (1) Determining whether the patient needs clinical or non-clinical services; and
- (2) Identifying the appropriate state-certified LSP(s) to provide those services.
