To qualify as an educational institution that is authorized to allow students to engage in activities normally undertaken by a licensed recreational therapist as an internship, the institution shall:

1. (a) Be accredited to offer educational programs by the applicable accreditation authority in the jurisdiction in which the programs are offered or by a federal accrediting agency, or both; and
2. (b) Offer courses or programs for recreational therapy that include internships and are accredited by the NCTRC.
