(a) The fees in this section shall not apply to any approval conferred by a board in its rules, whether the approval is for:
- (1) An organization generally;
- (2) One or more specific programs offered by a specific organization;
- (3) One or more topic(s) to be covered by one or more program(s) offered by a specific organization; or
- (4) One or more specific programs to be offered or one or more topic(s) to be covered by an identified type of organization, such as secondary educational entities or professional associations.
- (b) The fee for applying for board approval as a provider of continuing education programs, where such approval is required by applicable law based on an application being submitted to the board for review and a decision on whether to approve the organization as a provider of one or more programs, or any program, offered by the organization, shall be $150.
(c) The approval as a provider of continuing education programs shall be valid for 2 years unless:
- (1) Revoked or suspended by the board that issued it in accordance with the board’s rules; or
- (2) Replaced by board approval adopted as a rule.
- (d) The fee for applying for board approval of a continuing education program, where such approval is required by applicable law based on an application being submitted by the program’s provider to the board for review and a decision on whether to approve the specific program, shall be $100.
- (e) The approval of a continuing education program shall be valid for 2 years, provided that if the course covers specific requirements that change within that period, the approval shall expire as of the effective date of the change.
- (f) The fee for applying for board approval as an instructor of a continuing education program, where such approval is required by applicable law based on an application being submitted to the board for review and a decision on whether to approve a specific instructor who is not covered by a generally-applicable approval, shall be $100.
(g) The approval as an instructor of a continuing education program shall:
- (1) Apply to the course or courses identified in the board’s approval; and
- (2) Be valid for 2 years.
