(a) Pursuant to RSA 328-A:9, II, a physical therapist shall refer a client to one of the practitioners listed in (b) below when:
- (1) The client requires services outside the practice of physical therapy as defined in RSA 328-A:2, XI; or
- (2) Physical therapy is contraindicated.
(b) Practitioners to be referred to shall be:
(1) A person licensed to practice:
- a. Medicine;
- b. Dentistry;
- c. Chiropractic;
- d. Podiatry; or
- e. Naturopathic medicine; or
- (2) A person licensed as a physician assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner.
- (c) The referring physical therapist shall note the referral in the client's medical record.
