1. (a) When a supervisor determines that overtime work is necessary for the agency to meet its operational needs, the supervisor shall give notice to an employee that:

   1. (1) Authorization for overtime work will be granted to an employee who wishes to perform such work on a voluntary basis; or
   2. (2) The employee will be required to work overtime.
2. (b) A supervisor shall give at least 4 hours notice to an employee of required overtime work, unless an emergency situation affecting health or safety requires less notice.
