1. (a) When a former permanent employee is reemployed or rehired within a period of one year of separation in a job title in which the employee was previously employed at the same agency, the appointing authority may make an assignment at the same pay band and step the employee had been receiving at the time of separation, provided:

   1. (1) The job title has not been reclassified and the position has not been reclassified; and
   2. (2) The employee was not terminated for cause.
2. (b) If the job title has been reclassified or the position has been reclassified, the appointing authority shall set the beginning pay band and step in accordance with the requirements of Per 901.02.
