1. (a) Part-time employees involved in the care of persons in the state mental health system, the department of health and human services, the department of youth development services, the state prison, the secure psychiatric unit, or the veterans' home who meet the requirements of paragraph (b) shall be entitled to holiday pay for each hour or portion thereof worked on the following calendar holidays:

   1. (1) New Year's Day;
   2. (2) Martin Luther King, Jr. Civil Rights Day;
   3. (3) President’s Day;
   4. (4) Memorial Day;
   5. (5) Fourth of July;
   6. (6) Labor Day;
   7. (7) Veterans Day;
   8. (8) Thanksgiving Day;
   9. (9) Day after Thanksgiving; and
   10. (10) Christmas Day.

2. (b) To be eligible for holiday pay, the part-time employee shall have worked both:

   1. (1) The scheduled work day before the calendar holiday; and
   2. (2) The scheduled work day after the calendar holiday.
