T-Bar, J-Bar, Platter Pull, Chair Lift, Aerial Tramway or Gondola Application for Construction, Relocation, Alteration in Length, or Modification

- (a) For a T-bar, J-bar, platter pull, chair lift, aerial tramway or gondola, an owner or operator shall apply for the board’s approval by submitting a form Pas 3 “Application for New Construction, Alteration in Length, Relocation, or Modification and Registration of T-bar, J-bar, Platter Pull, Chair Lift, Aerial Tramway or Gondola”, revised 1/2022. The board may request additional information for verification of compliance with its rules.
(b) In addition to the application required in (a) above, each operator shall submit the following:
(1) A copy of the manufacturer’s specifications for any new or replacement wire rope including:
- a. Size;
- b. Grade of steel;
- c. Construction;
- d. Core; and
- e. Minimum guaranteed breaking strength;
- (2) A certified copy of the results of a destruction test of the wire rope conducted by the manufacturer or a laboratory;
- (3) A complete set of specifications and plans that shall be in the English language, with all linear dimensions shown in feet and inches in a font type and size that is readily legible;
- (4) A lift profile drawing showing the rope path, ground profile, maximum snow depths, tower locations, and trail crossing areas; and
- (5) A plan view of the installation showing the location of the lift, any buildings, trail crossings, power lines, other lifts, or watercourses.
- (c) If any variances are requested, the applicant shall submit with the application a description of any variance to the rules, regulations, and code of the New Hampshire tramway with justification.
- (d) The owner or operator and the designer of the rope tow shall sign the application form. By signing the form, the applicant shall certify that all information provided in the application is true and accurate.
