1. (a) An occupational therapist shall:

   1. (1) Initiate and direct the screening, evaluation, and re-evaluation processes;
   2. (2) Analyze and interpret the resulting data; and
   3. (3) Document the results of the screening, evaluation, or re-evaluation.
2. (b) The occupational therapist shall evaluate the client’s ability to participate in daily life activities by considering the client’s capacities and activities, and the environments in which the activities occur.

3. (c) An occupational therapy assistant shall contribute to the screening, evaluation, and re-evaluation processes by:

   1. (1) Administering standardized assessments and other delegated screenings;
   2. (2) Providing verbal and written reports to the occupational therapist about the assistant's observations and the client's capacities; and
   3. (3) Contributing to the documentation of the results.
4. (d) An occupational therapist and an occupational therapy assistant shall follow the instructions specifically designed for performing a standardized assessment when administering such an assessment.
5. (e) An occupational therapist and an occupational therapy assistant shall communicate screening, evaluation, and re-evaluation results within the boundaries of client confidentiality.
