1. (a) The director of a nursing education program shall provide written notice to the board at least 3 months prior to implementation of any curricular design changes.

2. (b) The following changes to curricular or program design shall require board approval:

   1. (1) Revisions to the philosophy, organizing framework, and student learning and program outcomes;
   2. (2) A significant increase or decrease in planned enrollment that may affect the overall faculty-student ratio or the capacity of institutional facilities or regional practice sites;
   3. (3) Departure from the current educational methods or practices;
   4. (4) Anticipated timeframe for implementing and evaluating changes;
   5. (5) Revision of curriculum; to include changes in more than 10% of credit hours;
   6. (6) Length of program;
   7. (7) Implementation of a pilot program or project;
   8. (8) Implementation of any relocation, satellite, off campus program or distance education component;
   9. (9) Changes in availability of adequate practice sites for the program that result in reduction in student enrollment or faculty positions; or
   10. (10) Changes in nursing program leadership.

3. (c) The sponsoring institution seeking board approval for curricular changes shall document:

   1. (1) Description of the proposed change with cumulative, data evidence- based, criteria for change;
   2. (2) Rationale for the change;
   3. (3) Human, financial, and physical resources required;
   4. (4) Integration with the current philosophy, purposes, organizing framework and curriculum; and
   5. (5) Evaluative process for assessing change.
4. (d) The board shall apply the criteria set forth in Nur 602.12 when considering approval of changes in curricular or program design pursuant to (a) above.
