1. (a) Applicants shall meet one of the following requirements to be eligible for licensure as a social work associate:

   1. (1) If graduated with a bachelor’s degree in clinical mental health, social work, psychology, behavioral health counseling, human services discipline, or equivalent program from an accredited college or university:

      1. a. Have completed 300 hours of social work or mental health education within the degree-granting program or separately;
      2. b. Have completed 300 hours of supervised practical training within the degree granting program or separately;
      3. c. Have completed 4,000 hours of supervised work experience within 2 years but no more than 4 years;
      4. d. Have pass the national ASWB bachelors level examination; and
      5. e. During the period of supervised practice, have completed 30 hours of continuing education, in addition to what is described in (1)a. in all of the following:

      6. i. Ethical and professional behavior;

         ii. Advancing human rights and social, racial economic, and environmental justice;

         iii. Anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion in practice;

         iv. Practice-informed research and research-informed practice;

      7. v. Policy practice;

         vi. Engagement with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities

         vii. Assessing individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities;

         viii. Intervention with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities; and

         ix. Evaluation of practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities; or

   2. (2) If graduated with an associate’s degree in clinical mental health, social work, psychology, behavioral health counseling, human services discipline, or equivalent program from an accredited college or university:

      1. a. Have completed 300 hours of social work or mental health education within the degree-granting program or separately;
      2. b. Have completed 300 hours of supervised practical training within the degree granting program as part of the supervised work experience or separately;
      3. c. Have completed 6,000 hours of supervised work experience in no fewer than 3 years;
      4. d. Have pass the national ASWB bachelors level examination; and
      5. e. During the period of supervised practice, have completed 30 hours of continuing education in addition to what is described in (2)a. in all of the following:

      6. i. Ethical and professional behavior;

         ii. Advancing human rights and social, racial economic, and environmental justice;

         iii. Anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion in practice;

         iv. Practice-informed research and research-informed practice;

      7. v. Policy practice;

         vi. Engagement with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities

         vii. Assessing individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities;

         viii. Intervention with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities; and

         ix. Evaluation of practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities.
