1. (a) The hearing officer shall issue a ruling or decision within 30 calendar days of the close of the record of the hearing.
2. (b) The hearing officer may render a decision during or at the close of the hearing if the decision is clear and the hearing officer determines that further deliberation is unnecessary.
3. (c) A copy of the hearing officer’s decision shall be furnished to the parties, their attorney(s) of record, or the party’s representative.
4. (d) Such decision shall be final 30 days after the written decision is issued unless an appeal is taken to the compensation appeals board or a timely appeal is taken under an applicable statute.
5. (e) The department shall keep a final decision in its records for at least 5 years following their dates of issuance, unless the director of records management and archives of the department of state sets a different retention period pursuant to rules adopted under RSA 5:40.
