The employer shall ensure compliance with the following requirements:

1. (a) Where ventilation is used to control potential exposure to employees, it shall reduce the concentration of the air contaminant to the degree that a hazard to employees does not exist;
2. (b) Whenever there is a danger of toxic substances being splashed, the employees shall wear either tight-fitting chemical goggles or an effective face shield;
3. (c) Near each tank containing liquid which might be harmful to the skin if splashed upon the worker’s body, there shall be a supply of clean cold water. The water pipe shall be provided with a quick opening valve and at least 48 inches of hose not smaller than ¾ inch. At no time shall water pressure for eyewashes exceed 25 p.s.i. Alternatively, deluge showers and eye flushes shall be provided; and
4. (d) All employees working in and around open-surface tank operations shall be trained by the employer as to the hazards of their respective jobs, and in the personal protection and first aid procedures applicable to these hazards.
