1. (a) A medical laboratory licensed by the state of New Hampshire that obtains a specimen of human tissue which, upon examination, shows evidence of cancer, shall:

   1. (1) Within 180 days after that pathology report is complete, provide information concerning its findings to the SCR; and
   2. (2) Fax, mail, or electronically transmit a copy of the pathology report using procedures described in this section.
2. (b) A medical laboratory may fulfill its responsibility for cancer reporting through a mutual agreement allowing cases to be submitted by the cancer registrar at an affiliated hospital or other facility.
3. (c) The SCR shall be granted access to pathology reports used to confirm or rule out a diagnosis of cancer by medical laboratories for the purpose of case finding and quality assurance.
4. (d) The SCR shall be authorized to identify cancer cases from the pathology reports and request information about missing cancer reports from the reporting facility.
