1. (a) All providers shall meet the applicable provider training requirements in He-M 506.
2. (b) All provider agency staff, providers, and contractors who have direct contact with individuals and families shall participate in a person-centered thinking program and demonstrate competencies by March of 2025 and every 5 years thereafter.
3. (c) All provider agency staff, providers, and contractors who have direct contact with individuals and families shall participate in at least one person-centered thinking course per year.
4. (d) Person-centered trainings and programs for (b)-(c) above shall consist of nationally recognized models and best practices as identified by the National Center on Advancing Person-Centered Practices and Systems (NCAPPS) or the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals NADSP.

5. (e) Providers of the following services shall not be subject to the requirements in (b)-(c) above:

   1. (1) Assistive technology;
   2. (2) Environmental and vehicle modification services;
   3. (3) Individual goods and services;
   4. (4) Non-medical transportation;
   5. (5) Personal emergency response services;
   6. (6) Community integration services;
   7. (7) Respite;
   8. (8) Wellness coaching; and
   9. (9) Specialty services for assessments, consultations, and evaluations.
6. (f) Providers who offer services listed in (e) above and any additional services shall be subject to the requirements of (b)-(c) above.
7. (g) Providers who are also family members shall be subject to (b)-(c) at the discretion of the individual and guardian.
