The board has the responsibility to:
- (a) Fully and conditionally license genetic counselors;
- (b) Provisionally license people to practice genetic counseling and regulate their practice;
- (c) Renew and reinstate the licenses of genetic counselors;
- (d) Regulate the profession of genetic counseling; and
- (e) Investigate complaints of misconduct by licensees and take appropriate disciplinary action.
