- (a) “Memorial” means any statue, monument, sculpture, bench, tablet, memorial, plaque, or other structure or landscape feature, including a tree, garden, or memorial grove, designed to perpetuate, in a permanent manner, the memory of a person, group, or event. The term “memorial” also includes the naming of structures or other features, including features within the interior of buildings.
- (b) “Commemorate” means the process of remembrance, showing respect for someone or something by means of a ceremony, or by doing or building something in remembrance of a person or an event.
