Individual Training and Shooting Permit Requirements

- (a) An individual training and shooting permit shall be issued only to an individual for the person’s property or for use on another person’s property, provided written permission has been provided.
- (b) The individual training and shooting permit shall allow an individual to possess, release, and shoot permitted wildlife solely for the purpose of teaching a dog to track, point, flush, or retrieve game birds. No other activities shall be allowed under this permit.
- (c) An individual training and shooting permit shall expire on December 31 of the calendar year of issuance unless sooner revoked.
- (d) An individual training and shooting permit shall be valid only for the premises described in the application, and the permit shall not be transferable or assignable. Applicants may list up to 5 sites.
- (e) The individual training and shooting permit shall not be used as a regulated shooting area permit.
- (f) No more than 3 licensed hunters with firearms shall use the same parcel of land at any one time during a training session under this permit.
- (g) No fees shall be charged by the permittee to another individual participating in this regulated activity.
- (h) Each person training and shooting under an individual training and shooting permit shall have a license under RSA 214:9 unless the person is a resident landowner engaged in the regulated activity on their own property pursuant to RSA 214:2.
- (i) The permittee shall comply with the requirements for possession, except that a separate permit to possess shall not be required.
- (j) During the open season the daily bag limits shall apply.
- (k) On state owned or managed lands no shooting shall occur during the closed seasons.
- (l) Dog training activities shall not take place in newly planted agricultural fields.
- (m) A dog training permit shall be required any time dogs are to be trained on native wildlife pursuant to Fis 1106.05.
