Handling and Health of Wildlife Possessed

- (a) Permittees shall handle the wildlife in a manner to prevent any injury or stress to the wildlife and protect the well-being of the wildlife at all times.
- (b) All wildlife shall be kept as free as possible from parasites or disease.
- (c) When wildlife becomes afflicted with, or unsightly as a result of, disease or parasites, it shall be removed from public display or view by the permittee or the permittee's agent and provided proper medical attention, or destroyed, in a humane manner, if necessary.
- (d) A permittee shall notify the department in writing within 5 business days of any unexplained diseases or deaths occurring in wildlife possessed under the permittee’s permit.
- (e) A permittee shall notify the department within 72 hours of any escaped animals, to include species, sex, identification numbers, and date and time of escape.
