- (a) The first weekend following the close of the regular season in all zones for hunting migratory waterfowl, as established in Fis 302.04 through Fis 302.06 and Fis 302.09, shall be designated as active duty and military veteran hunting days.
- (b) Only veterans, as defined by 38 USC §101, and members of the armed forces on active duty, including National Guard and Reserves, except if on active duty only for training, shall be permitted to hunt migratory waterfowl during the special active duty and military veteran hunting days.
- (c) Active duty and military veterans may be accompanied by one person who is not an active duty military service member or veteran. However, the person accompanying the hunter shall not harvest or attempt to harvest any waterfowl.
- (d) Any non-active duty military member or non-veteran that accompanies the hunter to assist with activities, such as setting out decoys, calling, or retrieving harvest birds, shall possess a New Hampshire hunting license and all required permits.
(e) Hunters participating in the special active duty and military veteran hunting days shall possess proof of eligibility as follows:
- (1) Active duty military identification card;
- (2) Actively participating National Guard or Reservist identification card;
- (3) Retired military identification card;
- (4) New Hampshire state driver’s license with veteran status indicator;
- (5) Form DD214, certificate of honorable discharge; or
- (6) Form DD215, corrected certificate of honorable discharge.
(f) In addition to the proof required in paragraph (e) above, hunters shall also possess the following while participating in this special weekend:
- (1) New Hampshire hunting license;
- (2) New Hampshire migratory waterfowl license;
- (3) National Migratory Bird Harvest Information Program permit; and
- (4) Federal duck stamp.
- (g) Bag and possession limits for each species shall be the same as during regular season.
- (h) All shotguns shall be plugged to a 3-shell capacity, and only nontoxic shot shall be used or possessed by the hunter.
