To receive board approval, continuing education courses shall:

1. (a) Be designed to:

   1. (1) Improve the knowledge of the mediator as it relates to families and family law;
   2. (2) Improve the professional competence of the mediator; or
   3. (3) Assure, to the extent possible, that the mediator is equipped to work effectively within the appropriate ethical boundaries of the profession;

2. (b) Be delivered:

   1. (1) Live, to any number of participants;
   2. (2) By recording on audio or video tape or disc; or
   3. (3) On-line;
3. (c) Include, as far as practicable in light of the topic(s) presented, an experiential component; and
4. (d) Meet the requirements of Fam 404.03 through Fam 404.06, as applicable to the presenters and the specific topic(s) covered by the courses.
