The purpose of these standards is to implement RSA 485-A:4, XV and RSA 485-A:5 so as to prevent the indirect discharge of pollutants to a publicly owned treatment works (POTW) that would:

1. (a) Pass through, interfere with, or otherwise be incompatible with the safe and successful performance, operation, and maintenance of the POTW;
2. (b) Cause the POTW to violate any water quality standards specified in Env-Wq 1700; or
3. (c) Adversely impact sludge quality and prevent its use or disposal as other than a hazardous waste.
