1. (a) Each certificate holder shall test representative composite samples of the wood ash:

   1. (1) On at least a quarterly basis for wood ash that is distributed regularly; or
   2. (2) On a batch basis if the ash is distributed on a batch basis.

2. (b) Analyses of representative composite samples of wood ash shall be as follows:

   1. (1) The analyses shall use EPA test procedures in “Test Methods for Evaluating Solid Waste, Physical/Chemical Methods”, EPA Publication SW-846, revised July 2021, published by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, accessed as noted in Appendix B.

   2. (2) The analyses shall include testing for the following constituents:

      1. a. Cadmium;
      2. b. Chromium;
      3. c. Copper;
      4. d. Lead;
      5. e. Mercury;
      6. f. Nickel;
      7. g. Zinc;
      8. h. Potassium;
      9. i. Molybdenum;
      10. j. Selenium;
      11. k. Calcium;
      12. l. Magnesium;
      13. m. Arsenic;
      14. n. Phosphorus; and
      15. o. Lime equivalence; and
   3. (3) The test for the metals listed in (2), above, shall be for total metals.
