(a) The start-up procedures required by Env-Dw 506.04(a)(1) shall include the following:
- (1) Inspecting all components of the distribution system including sanitary protective area(s), well(s), source meter(s), pump house(s), pump(s), treatment facility(ies), storage facility(ies), valve(s), blow-off(s), hydrant(s), backflow prevention device(s), if any, and sampling tap(s);
- (2) Disinfecting and flushing all distribution lines;
- (3) Correcting any current or previously-noted sanitary defects;
- (4) Submitting to the department proof of all outstanding public notice(s) from the previous season;
- (5) Submitting to the department any outstanding assessment reports from the previous season;
- (6) Submitting to a state-accredited laboratory all outstanding chemical and bacterial make-up sample(s); and
- (7) Resolving all outstanding violations or requirements.
- (b) The owner may include additional steps in the start-up procedures, such as sampling.
