- (a) Non-community water system wells shall be located at least 50 feet from the high water line of any surface waters, and 50 feet from any wetlands, and natural drainage ways.
- (b) The top of casing of non-community water system wells shall terminate at or above the flood hazard elevation determined pursuant to Env-Dw 406.06(b). The owner may add earth fill adjacent to the well to raise the finished grade around the permanent well casing for flood protection purposes, provided that all required permits for placing fill in wetlands and flood plains have been obtained.
- (c) Non-community water system wells shall be located at least 50 feet from the edge of road rights-of-ways, driveways, and parking areas to reduce contamination from de-icing salts and other roadway-related potential contamination sources.
- (d) No component of a PWS, including wells, shall be located in a Federal Emergency Management Agency designated floodway, with the exception of buried piping.
