“Source water protection project” means a project designed and intended to protect drinking water resources against future contamination through measures including but not limited to the delineation of a wellhead protection area (WPA), land acquisition, or the acquisition and elimination of potential contamination sources, as described in RSA 485-C:7, within an existing WPA, water supply watershed, or area contributing to a potential future source of water for a public water system.
