The department is under the direction of the commissioner.

1. (a) The commissioner, senior administrator for the department, implements the policies and programs of the department, submits the budget and has a grant of authority pursuant to RSA 282-A:112.
2. (b) The commissioner’s office is responsible for the general oversight and operational needs of the department and the supervision of the department’s various bureaus which are herein described.
