(a) Each applicant for approval as a level 1 third party electrical inspector shall:
- (1) Be certified in one and 2 family inspections by the IAEI or ICC; and
(2) Satisfy one of the following requirements:
- a. Have performed electrical inspections as a New Hampshire building official for a minimum of 3 years;
- b. Hold a journeyman’s license for a minimum of 3 years, including one year as a journeyman in New Hampshire;
- c. Hold a New Hampshire master’s electrician license for a minimum of one year; or
- d. Hold a license as a New Hampshire professional electrical engineer with documented knowledge of residential electrical design.
(b) Each applicant for approval as a level 2 third party electrical inspector shall:
- (1) Be certified in commercial and industrial inspections by the IAEI or ICC; and
(2) Satisfy one of the following requirements:
- a. Have performed commercial and industrial electrical inspections as a New Hampshire building official for a minimum of 5 years;
- b. Hold a journeyman’s license for a minimum of 8 years, including one year as a New Hampshire licensed journeyman electrician;
- c. Hold a master electrician license for a minimum of 5 years, including one year as a New Hampshire master electrician; or
- d. Hold a license as a New Hampshire professional electrical engineer with documented knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical design for a minimum of 5 years.
- (c) Any applicant under (a) and (b) above who is currently licensed as a journeyman or master electrician or professional electrical engineer shall be in good standing in their state of licensure and shall not be under investigation in any jurisdiction at the time they apply for approval under this section.
- (d) A third party inspector approval shall be valid for a period of 3 years from the date of approval. A renewal application shall be submitted within 30 days prior to expiration.
- (e) Who does not have direct interest and/or role in the property involved.
