1. (a) The per student transportation cost shall be equal to the number of days a student attended the program multiplied by the round-trip distance in miles from a student’s sending high school to the regional career and technical education center multiplied by the per mile reimbursement rate, which shall be either:

   1. (1) $0.10 per mile for students who have access to regularly scheduled district transportation or public transportation; or
   2. (2) $0.25 per mile for students who self-transport and whose sending district does not provide regularly scheduled transportation.
